Geckos are reptile that live on all continents except Antartica. Most are nocturnal meaning they only come out in the night. But some are diurnal, a less common word meaning active during the day. Those that are diurnal mostly eat insects, fruits, and flower nectar.
Geckos have adapted very well to their environment. From deserts to rain forest they've done it. One especially cool adaptation has to do with their tails. When a predator grabs the Geckos tail sheds allowing them to escape while predator thinks they have its meal. The Geckos tail serves other purposes besides this amazing protection. It helps them balance, it stores fat to use as an extra fuel tank, and camouflage.

Sloths are amazing creatures, in fact, they are my favorite (beside dogs.)These animals are tree-dwellers in Central and South America. Sloths sleep 20 hours a day. They are often mistaken as monkeys with their shaggy fur and long arms. Sloths barely move at all, and unlike a tortoise he moves so slow algae actually grows on his fur! Sloths are mostly identified by the number of claws on there front feet; 2 or 3. They are mammals and live usually at least 10 years. They are herbivores which means they eat only plants. Talk about vegetarians. Guess what?! They only use the bathroom once a week, descending from their home in the trees and digging their claws in the dirt. If caught by predator Sloths activate slugger mode, they slash their claws, hiss, shriek, and bite fiercely One thing I have always found interesting is that sloths may be very slow and I mean slow, like really slow, really really slow. But in the water they are not slow they are actually quite fast. Supprising right? If you want to see a video click the video below. I hope you think sloths are as amazing as I do. Not all black bears are black. Black bears range from pure white to cinnamon color to dark brown and black. Most populations are a mixture of these colors, including the pure white form which is found mostly in the island archipelago in southern columbia.
Typically adults are about 3 feet tall at the shoulder, the length from nose to tail is about 75 inches. Black bears are sexually dimorphic - meaning the male is larger than the female. The male exceeds in 600 lbs and the females exceed in 200 lbs. Black bears eat both plants and animals meaning they are omnivores. Black bears eat fish, larvae, meat, roots, grass, berries and other succulent plants. The can kill an adult deer and other hoofed wildlife, but mostly deer, moose, and other hoofed animals when they are young. A black bears life span in the wild can be up to 30 years, but most don't live into their early 20s. Since the bear is an omnivore it can live in a variety of environments. They typically do not show up in open areas. The Labrador Retriever is a sweet and loving dog. He is a great dog for a family or if you like to hunt they are made for it. They have an oily coating that helps them to keep warm and dry easier \so don't wash him unless you have too because it will come off. A good hunting Lab should not bark or at least rarely. I'm sure you would love one.
