The Labrador Retriever is a sweet and loving dog. He is a great dog for a family or if you like to hunt they are made for it. They have an oily coating that helps them to keep warm and dry easier \so don't wash him unless you have too because it will come off. A good hunting Lab should not bark or at least rarely. I'm sure you would love one.
